Wagner students will be preparing for and taking district-made standardized tests before they're off to enjoy the Thanksgiving break. Like many students, senior Clintrelle Lee questions the value of standardized tests like the CBAs from time to time.
"If I could vote to take away the CBA, I would," he said. "I feel like if we are passing the class, we should make more use of our time preparing for EOC tests and for life after graduation, for college."
However, Clintrelle also sees the positive side of the CBA testing, and that recognition has led him to re-evaluate how he prepares for them."The point of these tests are to see how everybody is progressing and to see if teachers are effectively doing their jobs," Lee said.
So now, instead of complaining about wanting to do other things with his time, Clintrelle is putting his head in the books. "I review all my work so far from the semester," Lee said. With enough study, Lee added, he'll get the grade he's hoping for.
