There are a couple of things that make life worth living. One of those is coffee. (There is a very real possibility that coffee does indeed make the world go round.) What better way to enjoy your cup of coffee than with entertainment? On Feb. 11, FCCLA presented the Coffeehouse Coalition, a night of coffee and performances, thanks to seniors Daija Wilkes and Indaca Lee.
This event’s main purpose was to help end domestic violence in the community. On the stage were singers, poets, and even a pianist; together striving to change the immensely growing population of abused individuals in our communities.
“Domestic abuse is just a topic that hits really close to home and this problem is just snowballing and I’ve had enough,” Wilkes said. A portion of the proceeds were donated to a local battered women’s shelter.
Empowered and motivated, Wilkes along with the FCCLA and the Theatre department provided a night of non-profit fun!
