Well, great. I was having to work on the weekend, 12-6, and it was tiring. I had to move around, back and forth. It was hot and humid. The mosquitoes were out, and we didn’t have spray. Everyone thinks Fiesta is the best, but this year, it was just no.
I spent the day working at a hotdog stand that sold a little bit of everything. It was a mustard yellow and a dark red at the same time, and little by little people came up. Some people made it like a really nice experience with thank-yous and smiling, and that truly means a lot. It honestly makes you feel like you're doing all this running around for a reason.
It was pretty slow for a while as the parade went on, but afterwards people kept coming here and there and they brought more people. That’s when the real moving around came, and we weren’t even in the parade area. We were a little out on the back side, but you know the crowd came out enough to notice us.
Across the street was a cow that you could ride, and I felt so bad every time I sold a hamburger To make matters worse, the guy that was handling the cow came and asked for a burger. I tried so hard not to laugh, because it was horrible but funny. You have no idea.
After that little cow burger incident, the people behind us were making funnel cakes and they gave them to us for free. Best thing ever.
After what felt like forever it was dying down, and we sold a few things here and there. They said it was a slow day -- they only made $500, and they usually make a thousand something -- but for a slow day it was a really cool one. (Even though it was hot.)
