BY JESSICA BROWN Going from middle school to high school can be a difficult task. But for freshman Jule Gray, that isn’t a problem. “I was worried it was going to be hard, but I kinda just jumped right in,” Gray said. “It wasn’t what I expected.” Gray's interests include orchestra and biology, two subjects that every high school offers. With regular classes for orchestra and biology, Gray can progress and learn about her interests all year. University Interscholastic League (UIL) is another one of her interests. Gray has competed in UIL History because she was inspired by her seventh grade history teacher Mrs. Smith. Gray feels confident about her knowledge of history and is looking for more information about UIL for high school. Gray also takes the responsibility of being a high school student seriously. “We have more freedom -- no one is on our back twenty-four-seven," Gray said. "Teachers don’t remind us of our assignments. We have more responsibility.” Gray has all Pre-AP core classes, which requires more responsibility then regular core classes. Despite all the new responsibility, however, Gray plans to continue to work hard to progress in her classes and support the things she likes. |
