Wagner's Lady T-Birds soccer team just began their pre-season as the new year rolled in. Their season doesn't actually begin until January 27th, so they have been participating in various scrimmages and tournaments to warm up. The Thunderbirds are expecting to practice 5-6 days a week in order to get ready for their in-season competition.
They played in the San Antonio ISD soccer tournament at Alamo Stadium on January 16th, winning 1 of 4 games played. They came up on top against Edison High School, winning the game 2-1.
Varsity player, Priscilla Rodriguez, describes playing soccer as a "stress reliever." This being her third season playing with Wagner's soccer team, she explained how she "sees them as a second family."
"This season is full of potential for us," Rodriguez said. Within the next week, Wagner will be able to show all their fans what they're made of, in hopes of making it to the playoffs.
