Mid-1980s, the streets of Compton, California were some of the most dangerous in the country. Within the hazardous area, there were five young men who had dealt with having to succumb to the lifestyle of their community, in which outsiders saw a horrid way of living.
Their experiences growing up as young black Americans in this day and age sparked, and eventually fueled, a flame. They sought out one thing, and that was to translate everything seen, taught and learned into brutally honest music that rebelled against abusive authority; what was never acknowledged within the media, giving an explosive voice to a silenced generation.
Now they're back on the big screen. Releasing August of 2015, this documentary will give everyone an inside look at how these astonishing young artist revolutionized music and pop culture forever: the moment they broke the silence and told the truth about life in the hood and ignited a cultural war.
