There’s nothing wrong with a friendly competition when it’s all in good fun. Last week, it was really fun for Wagner’s boys JV soccer team, who won against long-time rival school Judson.
The outcome was 5 to 2. “We worked really well as a team, so I think that had something to do with it.” freshman Charles Everett said.
For freshman Pedro Esparza, one of the defining moments came when facing off with Judson's goalie. "That guy is one of the best goalies," Esparza said. "He's really good. We were working hard to score on him, and we kept trying to kick so we could get around him. It was awesome."
Soccer is a very mercurial and unpredictable game, so the ending result of a match can go in anyone’s favor no matter the caliber of the team. Luckily for the boys, the Soccer Gods decided to smile upon the T-Birds.
