When you think of October, Halloween automatically comes to mind. It's the time of year in which all the ghosts, witches, fairies and princesses come out. Getting into the spirit of Halloween, Drama Club had spooky fun Thursday, Oct. 30.
Of course, there were games and fun, but the Halloween presence made everything a bit more enjoyable. Participants got the chance to dress up using costumes from theatre’s costume shop and to perform skits.
"Everyone was smiling and laughing and that’s what drama club is all about; it’s a great way to meet nice new people and just have a little fun," junior Juliana Carbajal said. "Thanks to Ms. Carter, Mr. Nanninga, and all of the techs, the theatre Halloween party was a huge success."
Wagner’s band was also feeling ‘Halloween-y’. During rehearsal, band members got the chance to show off their costumes, including sumo wrestlers and Disney characters.
“Dressing up for Halloween gives us the opportunity to relax while working,” junior Eathan Oyerbides said.
After all that practice, the band had to go to a football game on Halloween and a competition the next day, so most members did not really get to celebrate. The band did get the payoff, though.
After a two hour bus ride, the band won the competition in Round Rock, winning Best Visual, Best Guard, and Best Overall Effect!
