Ready, set, strut! Students strutted their stuff down the runway during the annual Prom Showcase Feb. 18.
Models showed off dresses and suits. Freshman Alyssa Guyo, senior Pricila Horta Segura, senior Faith Kpehe, sophomore Eunique Phllips, senior Abigail Rodriguez, and junior Angel Brite modeled for David’s Bridal; Guyo, junior Kiah Johnson, Kpehe, junior Petra Ludwig, sophomore Jaime Perez, junior Dalaiah Selton, sophomore Vanessa Soria, junior Cristina Tovar Beruman, and sophomore Arlet Vielma wore Destiny’s Bridal; junior Jaime Abundiz, junior Yadiel Carrion Quiroz, freshman Cooper Dugan, senior Emmanuel Espinoza, sophomore Lazaro Garza, senior Samitree Govan, senior Hileal Phillips, and senior Michael Swindler wore tuxes from Al’s Formal Wear; and senior Ian Foerster, senior Andrew Gonzales, senior Nathan Havner, senior Ruarthanac Leng, senior Alberto Moreno, junior Sean O'Dea, freshman Inocencio Ortega, senior Angel Rivas, senior Nick Schmidt, and junior Armando Seispardo sported Men’s Wearhouse.
The showcase allowed students to preview outfits for the 2016 prom. “I felt like a princess,” junior Kiah Johnson said.
Still, it wasn’t all just dressing up in pretty clothes. Being in in any type of performance can put a lot of pressure on you. “It was kind of hectic because everyone was rushing around, but it was like organized chaos,” Johnson said.
Overall, thirty students modeled tuxes and dresses in the auditorium, accompanied by lights and music. “It was an amazing experience that I hope to have again,” Johnson said.
