As of Oct. 31, several Wagner students are now in the running for the Judson Independent School District and Judson Educational Foundation Fiesta Medal competition. The competition will select the best drawing from submissions which illustrate the best parts of Fiesta and the city of San Antonio. The medal designs are also required to incorporate the words "Judson ISD" and "JEF." If the words are not included, the entry may be disqualified.
The first place winner will win a Kindle, and second and third place winners will be awarded DVD players. The first place winner's artwork will be featured on the Fiesta Medal for the year.
Senior Leah Mirales was one of Wagner's entrants this year. "I wasn't expecting my drawing to go in," Mirales said, "but all the time I put in was worth it."
Sophomore Aubrianna Braley, another entrant, agreed. "I'm glad mine went in," Braley said. "It was a fun thing to do, and it felt good to get to put our creativity into the design."
Winners will be notified by Dec. 5.
