On Saturday, Nov. 1, Wagner students attended a meeting at the University of Texas at Austin to prepare for the upcoming season University Interscholastic League (UIL) competition season.
Many schools met at the campus to attend seminars about various events and the rules pertaining to them. UIL is a statewide conference where students compete in showcasing different skills that they possess. From improvisation to calculator to history competitions, UIL has a little bit of something for everyone to participate in. Not only is this an opportunity for students to bring their skills to the light, but it is also an opportunity to meet new people who have the same interests
Sophomore, Brianna Milburn attended for her first year competing in Literary Criticism. " I'm new at this," Milburn said. "It's kind of intimidating,"
Students will prepare for their first UIL meet to be held on December 6 at Madison HS, where judges will be able to see different talents displayed and who is the best of the best at executing them.
